art jam, I realize I never posted arts here from the also fabulous but now closed Original Characters' Ball on tumblr (ocball.tumblr.com/). Meep.Part 1 of 4..
My usual suspects are lining-up… for size reference, okay.. not.. not because they are up to no good and the hired security folks have to take any especially special notice.
With that disclaimer, a little debrief on their character and party habits:
Kerrigan: Skilled navigator of both sea and space vessels, Kerri shows a lot of grace under pressure and indeed never seems to lose her temper. You will never see a mean, sly, or perturbed look on her face. She likes to be helpful and loves taking care of her crew, but if they’re doing alright she’s quite willing to branch out!
Merrisol: As the captain of a clockwork/steam/solar-powered submersible, Merri exhibits a stern, forthwith demeanor, but underneath waits a curious explorer of people, places, and things… seriously. His relentless interest in just about everything and everyone might make him a handy friend to have around, but at the same time makes him hard to nail down in the long-term. Dancey parties are therefore perfect opportunities for spreading out his attention into neat portions, with no hard feelings once the music ends. Right..?
Minnie: She’s like the away mission security goon who somehow never gets killed off. Her skillset is rather shaky, and the only things she is definitely consistently GOOD at are: Going Fast, Hitting Hard, and Getting Defensive/Offensive. Due in part to a speech impediment (lisps her S’s), she doesn’t have much to say, unless it’s: “Get outta the way, you ____ _____ _____!” Why did she bother getting all dressed up (with a lot of help from Kerrigan, natch) for the Ball? (Yes, those are roller-heels. Roller-Heels are now A Thing.)
Pierre: The jocular, easy-going combat specialist of the team enjoys the action and energy of social events, and is simultaneously impressed and unaffected in that ‘backwater’ sort of way by shows of affluence and luxury. Also, he likes food, all sorts, in vast quantities, and that precious canape will go down with the same appreciation as a corndog would. So, uh, he’ll be over by the caterers more often than not.</i>
